The Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) is the lowest level of licence that allows you true freedom to fly where you want, when you want, with whom you want.  Your playground is Australia.  Anywhere in Australia.

If you choose to fly from Adelaide to Launceston (see my trip report), you can.  All you need is an aircraft, and a few extra dollars.
